3 Weeks post-op - INSOMNIA

This is my first time to this site and need some insight. I am three weeks post-op and have not slept an entire night since surgery. I have no trouble falling asleep, but am up between midnight and 1 am. Usually hot, cold, hot, cold.

Is this normal? Also, maybe for another forum. Any thoughts on HRT? Do you need it? What are some alternatives?

3 Weeks post-op - INSOMNIA

Welcome GayleB1,

I am also 3 weeks post-op and have had the same issues. I went to the Co-op yesterday to investigate homeopathic alternatives, and I think I found a good one!

Last night is the first night I have not been up walking the floors since surgery. (I did get up to pee a couple of times)

"Enzymatic Therapy -- AM/PM Menopause Formula"

It's a great supplement for that has both day and night pills. I took one in the AM and then the PM pill just before I went to bed. I slept through the alarm!!

Daytime relief includes: lack of energy, hot flashes, irritability and mood swings.

Nighttime relief includes: sleeplessness, night sweats and hot flashes.

It's also the first night I have not had to get up to change my PJ's due to soaking sweats.

Good luck ;0) -- Geri

let me sleep!

I am almost 5 weeks post op (tah) I have to go back to a stand all day job in 1 week and sleep and lack of energy are definately my major issues. I drop into bed exhausted at night only to wake up a few hours later , pace the house, go back to bed then up again! I thought my lack of activity was the problem since I'm used to being on the go for 11 or so hours daily, but in the last week I've been trying to be much more active to ease myself back into working condition. Results: I fall exhausted into my chair after whatever I've been doing and can barely keep my eyes open (sometimes don't) then night is the same rotten story of ups and downs. What brand is the menopause help pills you are using Geri? I'd like to try to find some. Thanks Ladie D

Ladie D,

"Enzymatic Therapy AM/PM menopause Formula -- what better feels like --". It is hormone free. All natural. You take the white pill in the morning, and the purple pill at night.

Benefits include: Relief from menopause symptoms

Daytime relief: lack of energy, hot flashes, irritability and mood swings.

Nighttime relief: sleeplessness, night sweats and hot flashes.

I'm sure if you go to the health food or co-op store they can locate them for you. They also recommended herbal teas that help with energy and sleeplessness. I'm not one to take pills, but I'm more than willing to continue with these while they help.

Last night was the first night I have not soaked through my PJ's in sweat. I did get up to pee a few times, but made myself lay back down instead of walking around the house. I was able to fall back to sleep!

Insomnia

I kept an ovary and ALSO have Insomnia!
I've had it since my surgery. The first 6-8 weeks - I couldn't get to sleep. The next 2 months - I wake up at 330-4am and can't go back to sleep.

It's horrible. And I know mine isn't hormonal.
