5 Weeks Post Op

Wow can't believe it's been five weeks since my surgery. I'm doing great. Had my final follow-up visit yesterday. Was a bit nervous about the internal exam. It went great. He said he could still see a couple of stitches in there but they'll go away eventually. No signs of granulation tissue. This exam was the first one I've had in years that wasn't painful. There used to be one spot where the doc would touch inside that would make me want to jump off the table. It's not there any more. Hallelujah!

He wants me to wait for one more week before hubby and I resume having sex again. Kinda bummed about that but oh well. Found out my doctor is being transferred in March (Military doctor). So I'm very glad I got this done when I did. He's been so wonderful.

I'll have to go back in 6 months for a pap smear but that's it. I'm now in the clear. Yes!!

I'm so glad I had this surgery done. Best thing I ever did.

Hi Lmaha. We share the same date. I am glad that you got a green light. I go on the 24th for my check up. I think that everything should be ok. I have had minimal problems. I am ready to get back into the normal (well, somewhat normal) swing of things. I think that I am ready finally. 5 weeks was a turning point for me. It is funny b4 I found this site I used to think that I was so young to have this done. I am 40. Now I see people much younger than me having it done. I do consider myself lucky. I complained of frequent periods to my Dr for the past 3 years. Every two weeks. Not real bad but annoying. Then in July of last year he finally said, I will refer you to a specialist. Saw him in Sept. I knew that I had fibriods (found out 2.5 years prior). Periods just got worse since Sept. (just when I turned 40). I was able to get in on a cancellation to have my surgery. Up here there is about 2-3 months wait at the best of times. So in a matter of 2.5 months it was all done. I know that most people suffer for years. That is why I consider myself lucky. Hope you continue to do well. Take care.
