Just yanked out my catheter and can finally pee on my own. Since I was no longer toting that bag around I had my husband get me some Wallaby's bbq pork and smashed potatoes.
Bad idea...
Now I'm gulping stool softeners and repenting.

You ladies are obviously smarter and more experienced than me about these things. What should I eat? (Krispy Kreems and NY cheesecake sounds good)

Lots and lots of liquids - cranberry juice, prune juice, smoothies, gatoraide, herbal teas...

Foods - bran muffins, bran cereal, whole grain breads and crackers, prunes, fruit, veggies, oatmeal, yogurt, chips...

Avoid anything constipating or gas producing - beans, cabbage, broccoli, cheese - whatever usually gives you problems. (BBQ pork?)

I agree with Linda

Hi! I agree with Linda about the bran stuff, whole grain and prunes. I am eating about 6-8 prunes throughout the day. Oh joy! Cereals (again whole grains and bran) really help. Also you might want to limit spicy, starchy and white flour stuff. Best of Luck to you!

my trick...

If you like oranges...try eating at least two a day...I do this when the constipation getts bad...I learned this trick when I was pregnut and was on iron pills...see vit. C helps you absorb iron...So, I ate an orange every time I took an iron pill...what I noticed in return was no constipation...Which I had been battling...nowadays when it all seams to get stoped up...I grab a big bag of oranges eat two a day and what ever else I want...may be it will work for you too.

I have to agree with horsewoman. Go heavy on the cranberry juice. After the bladders been messed with so much many women end up with UTI's and cranberrry juice can help prevent these.
I have been eating a lot of soup's (I'm very partial to New England Clam Chowder)
I had a slip in eating sanity also and had a chicken fried steak, I paid for that and had to spend some time with a stool softener. No fun and I've been a good girl since then.
