8 Week Post Op-how Are You Feeling??

I will be at 8 weeks on Tuesday, and will be going back to work that day. Although numb at incision area, (which my Dr said could be that way for a year, or may never go away-may be something I'll just have to learn to live with), I don't get nausea after eating- never did-darn! My BIG problem is the UTI!! After going to the Pb/Gyn for the third time with this problem in 6 weeks, he said that this is happening WAY too often! He cautheterized me to get my sample and scheduled me to a visit with a Urologist. ANYONE ELSE HAVE TO GO TO A UROLOGIST??? If so, please write and let me know how it went...I have no idea what to expect! Will he do a pelvic exam? Also, this time for the UTI, he gave me tetracycline, which is a real pain...take it 4 times a day, and can't eat for 2 hours before, or 1 hour after. It's hard enough to get the scheduled intervals to take the pills, but if I don't eat right at 2 hours after, then I have to wait for an hour from when I DID eat, and it throws the whole schedule off. Plus, I can't lay down for 30 minutes after taking it, so yesterday, I didn't feel good so I didn't take the meds as soon as I woke up, because I wanted to go back to bed, so by the time I got up and took the first pill, the timing was REALLY off!! I'll be crazy by the time 10 days is up! Not only THAT, but I have a cream that has to be inserted into my vagina at bedtime, this stuff cost me $61.00 and that is only 25%, because my insurance pays the rest! OUCH!! (Especially when I'm only getting 60% of pay for the last 8 weeks!

dcee...I am off to the Urologist next Tuesday for a cystoscope. It will be my 5th visit there. Have blood in my urine. I find these Drs real sharp. I also had UTI's, but they have resolved just the blood still showing up. It is good that you are being referred to a specialist as these UTIs are very uncomfortable. Good luck to you. I only got 1/2 pay - my expense check, so it was good to get back to work. The Dr copays and prescription tabs can sure add up. Just think all the money we will save when we recover!

I am 9 weeks as of yesterday and decided to go ahead and schedule the CT for lingering sore spots. So we shall see if I am just a slow healer or there is a issue. I have been back to work part time for 2 weeks. Come home very sore and swollen, does get a bit better every week. Still battling fatigue, like someone just tapped my energy supply. I am so happy I am part time as full time would be too much. Get 4 days to reenergize. Yippee!
