Kids's Are Sick and I Can't Handle It...

Any sister's out there like me?

For the past six or seven years, I have been absolutely petrified when my kids get sick. They get the common cold, the stomach bug, the bronchitis and I run for the hills!

My kids are now 13 and 11. My son at this moment, has a wicked sore throat, is puking his guts out and is mumbling strange things while he sleep walks. Guess who bailed and is on the computer, while DH is taking care of DS. ME!!!!!

I have been like this for so long. I crumble and DH steps in. I shut down and DH takes over. Thank goodness. I don't know why I run in fear? I can take care of everything else that my kids need. I am a chauffeur, cook, seamstress, psychologist, friend, enemy, you name it.

I am freaking out right now that next to get this bug is my DD. And then me. I follow my DS around bleaching things he has recently touched. We use paper towel in the bathroom when there is a sickness so as not to contaminate each other.

I don't understand. I have seen psychiatrist for OCD issues (germaphobe issues) but didn't get anywhere with him.

I certainly hope that no one else really has this issue...although if you do, I would love to hear from you!

Hugs,
Sarah
