How are the five week sisters doing?????

Hi Sisters.

I will be five weeks tomorrow and Im wondering how all the other five weekers are?

I am feeling pretty good.Im feel like Im alive again.
My tummy is still swollen and gets very "swelly" if I think Im wonder woman and do too much.
I have noticed that the pain when passing water has GONE!
My scar is still numb, but healing great.
I am on BP meds, that has gone very high since my op, also im moody still.I have headaches and feel very sick in the mornings, I think thats due to hormones????? Anybody know why???

I have Dr app on Thrusday and hope that He will release me to drive, iron and most importantly to give my DBF more than just a cuddle....mmmmm.

Also a "thank you to everybody for all the support" I truly know that the last few weeks would have been impossible without the support of all the hyster sisters!!

Happy healing girls!

How are the five week sisters doing?????

I am at 5 1/2 weeks and finally at the point where it feels better to do things than not. My swelly belly is worse if I sit at the computer or table or watch TV too much than if I do allowed activities. I feel best if I get in a brisk 30 minute walk each day or even better if I get to town and see real people! I still have some sleeping issues but not as bad. I don't know what causes the headaches but mine have let up. I did have one this morn and it is about the time I would be haivng my period. My 6 week chk is Thurs and I'd better be released to go back to work, sick time ran out 2 weeks ago. Don't know if I'm ready but got no choice, besides if I wait much longer it'll just be harder because I'm no longer accustomed to standing on my feet for 8 hours. My scar and skin around it is numb but I understand that will go on for a while. Peripherial nerve tissues regenerates at a rate of about a quarter inch per month. I await the day when I can say this is the best thing I ever did!

How are the five week sisters doing?????

HI five weekers... I am at 5 weeks and my biggest complaint is fatigue. I went back to school last week (graduate school) and I tire very easily. Also have some bladder pain, hope that goes away soon. I felt better last week and probably over did it, going to the grocery and such. Hope we are all feeling great soon. I don't go for another check up until the 31st.

Hi 5 weekers! I'm glad you all are doing good! I'm doing o.k. I still have some strong pain, last week it was just about every day 3/4 of the day and I needed to take strong pain meds to function....took it very easy......and today I feel great! I haven't had to take anything for pain as of yet! wohoooooooo! .... I'm hoping this will last. Take care..........

How are the five week sisters doing?????

I am 5 weeks today, and I feel wonderful. My only complaint is the fatigue now. My belly is going back to normal and aside from passing a few stitches, every once in a while...no more spotting or discharge!!

I never had the headaches that alot of you are talking about, so that is a good thing, and I hope not to. Also, my moods have seemed to stabalize, as well. Must be that my ovaries have finally got off their butts and started doing their jobs lol

I am definitely looking forward to getting back to work on Wednesday, and look forward to an awesome future.

*happy healing all!!!!*

How are the five week sisters doing?????

I'm feeling much better! Today I go back to my surgeon for, what I hope is, a final look. Since I started bleeding a week ago and although it stopped, I still need to be seen. Other than that, my BP went up also, but seems to be under control now. I am on bio-identical hormones and have finally gotten rid of alomost all hot flashes and cold spells. I am sleeping at night. My skin looks better than ever, and my GERD is gone, somehow. I do not understand everything but I am excited about this. I am wearing the belly binder only to sleep in, am going for short walks, and driving short distances. I finally feel alive again, and have started to homeschool my kids again. I am hoping that things will keep getting better each day now, and that I can start to get my body back. I did some dancers' "flat backs" yesterday -- boy I needed it, and found I am so out of shape! I look forward to getting my body back! I look forward to good health!

How are the five week sisters doing?????

I will also be five weeks tomorrow. I am walking about 2 miles almost every day. I have been back to work since the third of January. I have recovered so well that I forget when I start to feel icky. My only problems have been occasional constipation which seems to be helped by the walking. I think that having the surgery so close to Christmas made me do a bit too much too soon. I also think my hormones might be a little off as I am not as perky as usual. Outside of that, I am sooooo happy that this is behind me.....

How are the five week sisters doing?????

It's nice to see that most of us are doing so well...keep up the good work, girls!!!

cyborwife, I'd be concerned with having strong pain this far along in your recovery, no? I realize we all heal at different stages, and I'm not expecting everyone do be doing as well as I am, but I think at 5 weeks if I had anything more than the odd "niggling" or dull ache at the end of the day, I'd be talking with my doc.

*hugs cybor*...I'll be thinkin' about ya' and wishing you pain-free days

Hi Angel

I'm so pleased to hear that you are doing so well!

I feel I am not doing well at the moment, things with my Son have deteriorated so badly that I can't forsee us ever resuming any sort of relationship. He came to fetch the rest of his things yesterday and is still fuming that he has to live eslewhere as a result of his violent outburst when I was only 2 weeks post-op. He also told me that he felt he had an awful childhood (yea right!) and that I was a terrible mother.

This has depressed me no end and I seem to spend my days crying and having an apathathetic view towards life altogether. I feel everyone close to me has let me down, dh has never stepped in and told my son NOT to speak to me the way he does.
My son has always been the heart of my life and maybe I haven't been the 'perfect' parent in his eyes but I have done the best that I could.

My youngest son (17 yrs) announced this weekend that he and his gf (16) are to have a baby in Aug. I think I am still in shock over that too.

I am not sure if the stress is hindering my recovery but I am constantly depressed , feelings of apathy, also seems I have a bladder infection that just won't shift.

I am so pleased for all of you that are feeling well and on the road to recovery, I look forward to feelling that way soon.

How are the five week sisters doing?????

Hello All

I will be 5 weeks on Wed! I too am feeling better each day. Other than the fatigue (want to take afternoon naps it seems).

I have not started back into my walking and I believe I will start that tonite? Might improve my stamina which I feel is down. I am taking cenestin and multi vitamins and b12 and hope it will help too.

Karen-Jane: I too had a spat with my oldest seems our children don't get the picture do they?? I told my oldest I loved him dearly but it was time for him to move on and not move back per say!!! He laughed and told me to up my hormones! Oldest child and I are a lot alike and can not live in the same household anymore for long periods and he knows that. Just continue talking to the oldest child he will come around!! Sometimes it takes them years I know but all in all it hopefully will work out for the best for you.

I myself had no time off from work just the 3 days and the weekend and back at it so my doctor tends to think that has slowed me down a tad bit but I got the clear to resume all activities that felt good. That was nice!!!

Congrats to all we have made it 5 weeks!! Looking forward to a healthier life!

Linda
