Big hard bruise under scar 2 weeks after TAH

Dear sisters,

I noticed that I have a big hard bruise underneath the left end of my now purple scar. I am now 2 weeks post-op. I am already applying creams to ease the bruise, but this hard ball underneath my skin is painful when I apply feather light pressure. I am so scared that it will not go away. Maybe I did something wrong.? ? Is this normal? Does anyone else has/had the same problem?

Also, one other tricky thing. Does anyone have the problem of ingrown pubic hair? My friend had taken care of all the ones far from my scar, but she told me there still are a few right next to my scar, and probably grown way into my skin. What am I supposed to do? Is it safe to just leave it? Will I be facing others infection later? I am so worried.
Please help!

Thank you

Anything which seems unusual and which causes you this much pain is definitely worth a call to the doctor, in my view.

I wish I had a suggestion for the ingrown hair. Maybe someone else will have one!

Good luck to you. Let us know what happens!

Yes, you should definately contact your doctor. I had a hard area around an umbilical hernia incision, and it turned out to be a nasty infection. Don't take no for an answer!

Good luck.

Hi MaryJane,
I am at 10 weeks post op and about two week's ago I noticed the same thing.A hard lunp and some discoloration on top of the lump.I thought it also might be an ingrown hair.I went to the Dr. because it did not go away.It ended up being where he tied the knot of my last stitch. It had depeloped some fluid around it.He said maybe if I put hot cloth's on it it would express that way but he decided to make a tiny inicision when he did it drained very nicely.
No problem no pain.Very simple .
Hope this helps.

I have a lot of scars from all my surgeries, and have trouble with hairs in that area. I use tweezers to coax the ingrown hairs to the surface, and then pluck them. It's really no different than plucking your eyebrows, and considerably less painful, due to the numbness of the scars. If they are infected, spray them with a first-aid antibiotic spray.
