entrapped nerve from TAH ???

Morning sisters I am looking for anyone that has encountered a entrapped nerve from having there TAH...I am still searching for the cause of my pain...I had TAH/BSO Sept. 10th 2004. I have this pain in my pubic area (top right side of the bone) and right groin ! I still can't wear regular clothes, cross my legs, sleep on stomach, because of this pain. If I try to do these things...I make the pain much worse ! ! And yes I have posted before about this...but I am still trying to figure out what is wrong...my dr. that did the surgery has NO idea what is wrong...said he has NEVER had anyone (in 21 years of surgery) with this pain in this spot before. I have been searching the web...and I think that I have a entrapped nerve. I would love to hear from someone that has been told that they have a entrapped nerve. How they figured out that is what you had and what they did to fix this nerve. Thanks to ALL !

take care and be safe,

entrapped nerve from TAH ???

Hi Zoo,

If it were me...I'd start with my GP and of course our GP's must try 3 times to cure us. You'll be sent home with treatments and muscle relaxment pill etc. Go through the process inorder to get referred to a specialist. You'll need to see a neurologist if your GP thinks it's a nerve. Meantime...during the treatment period this pain may let up.
Don't wait any longer. If it is nerve... nerve damage is something that usually degrades.
You'd probably be fine hu, if it wasn't for this? Also, over on the forum, " Road less Traveled" are ladies who are having side effects of surgery or continued pain ...some related to surgery some not. Perhaps someone there has had similiar pain.
Best wishes,

another possibility

Maybe you have some rotation of the pelvic bones, maybe the bones are shifted out of place a little. That can cause pain pretty easily. An osteopathic physician (D.O. vs MD) or a chiropractor (sp??) may be able to check and see if perhaps this is your problem if your doctor hasn't already thought of this possibility.

update & thanks

Hi Sisters Well, I went to a new GP. And I was thrilled with him...checked me out from head to toe ! ! ! I am having a CT scan tomorrow...but this is what he thinks...That I have broken or fractured my pubic bone ! ! ! ! This DOES all make sense because of where my pain has been...and I did fall 11th day after my surgery...and I did fall hard I didn't even tell this dr that I fell...this is just what he felt by feeling my pubic area...that I have a bone fracture that is healing.... WOW huh !!!!! I thank you all for your in put trying to help me figure all this out...I can't wait to see if he is right (I see him on wednesday) he also did blood and urine work up...just to cover all basis. I have no clue what they can do about this if that is what it is, but at least I can finally know what has been causing my pain for almost 5 months ! ! ! Love all my sisters here!!! Thanks again....

take care and be safe,

Oh Zoo , a broken pebic bone!!! I'm so glad you found a new GP and better yet that he seems to be good! If the test comes out negative keep pushing for those answers.
Thanks for coming back and posting and good luck with your tests.

entrapped nerve from TAH ???

Hi again Zoo,

Had another thought. Maybe your pubic bone cracked, as thought, but then maybe something else has set in secondary. Another sister here was thinking her problem was Osteitis Pubis. It occurs after a trauma, it's inflamation and/or infection of the pubic bone. It now looks like it won't be her diagnosis afterall, but do an internet site search on the condition and see if it sounds close to what you feel.

Would a fractured pelvic bone cause you to hurt in the groin? I'm so anxious to hear what you learn next week. Hang in there!

entrapped nerve from TAH ???

As a matter of fact a pelvic fracture will cause groin pain. We see lots of little old ladies who fall and sustain a pelvic fracture and they always complain about groin pain.

Oh Man Zoo........I'm sure cruiselover didn't say you were a little old lady

It's nice to have someone here who has experience with these things. This fractured bone just might be the answer for Zoo. Thanks cruiselover for answering my question.
