Re: What's your pets name and why?

Our family includes Scranton the puggle, we love The Office TV show. We also have Sophie the black cat, and Sadie the tabby. For some reason, our family has been stuck on S names for pets since our first Shadow and Sherman years ago.

Re: What's your pets name and why?

Red - he's a Redbone Coonhound mix. His name was Red when we got him from the pound. I didn't want to confuse him, but started to regret that decision as his personality developed.

Harley (short for Harlequin) - he's an English-style chocolate lab. His name was Honda when we got him from a friend. We changed it because Hondas (the cars) have a hum-drum connotation. He is very energetic and powerful in a compact package, like a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He's also immensely entertaining, especially when he "dances" for his dinner, like a medeival court jester, aka harlequin.

Re: What's your pets name and why?

" SPUD "

Spud is my 12 year old black feral type cat.

I was staying on a farm, and they got flooded out, went outback one night, and heard a lot of mewing, found a sack, yes you've guessed, it was a potato sack, with 6 kittens on top of the potatoes.

Five of the cats were very pretty, 3 long haired brown and white tortoiseshell, 2 ginger toms and 1 who obviously was the runt of the litter, very small black cat, no fur on his head or ears, and cross-eyed.

I had to feed the black cat with an eye droplet, and he did start to grow a little. The other five found homes straight away, but nobody wanted the "Gremlin" I had a male Lassie dog of 12 who hated cats, so didn't feel I could have him, even tho I had got really attached to him, and the people at the farm didn't want him. Being farmers they said he had to stay outside and be a yard cat, well he kept getting in any way he could.

Took my dog up the farm, to see what he would actually do to this little thing, had the cat on my lap, and was stroking it, and the dog, and then the dog picked him up, we all panicked thinking he would shake it, but no, he laid down washing it, and for the rest of the day carried him about. So, of course I ended up taking him home and he became SPUD.

They shared a bed ate the same food, and loved to lay in front of the fire together. Eventually his eyes uncrossed and his fur grew. They spent 8 years together before my dog died.

So 12 years later I still have SPUD and he will sit when told, sit and beg for his food, waits at the door while I pop to the shop, and lets the grandchildren do anything with him, including putting rollers in his hair and dressing him up.

So really I think, he thinks he's a dog!!!!!!

Re: What's your pets name and why?

My companion for the last 12 years has been my grey cockatiel Cracker Jack. I got him right after he was starting to eat seeds and not being hand-fed by an eye dropper of birdie formula. He makes me laugh and sometimes I get angered by some of his antics, but I have to remember that he's a bird. lol I love him and would be lost without him. He's a good bird.

Re: What's your pets name and why?

I have a pit bull/lab mix. She is a beautiful rescue dog. Her name is Isis. Greek goddess of family and nature. I chose this because she is a wonderful addition to the family and I wouldn't change her for the world. My boys absolutely love her.

I also have 2 cats, Peanut and Penelope. Their names are what they had when we rescued them as well. They were a "take one, take both. Can't be separated" deal. Love them too.

Re: What's your pets name and why?

Colonel MacKenzie "Mac" she is a rescue a shepherd mix and a certified therapy dog. She's named after a character in the TV show JAG played by Catherine Bell. Mac is the light of my life and the sweetest dog I've ever had. My previous dogs were Star a lil shep mix I had from age 16 to 31 I was taking a class in astronomy at the time, and my Disney who I lost 5 yrs ago at age 13 was a shepherd husky (see a shepherd pattern developing lol) who was beautiful and mischievous and adorably funny ...she was from the worst shelter in N J so I named her after the best place I've ever been. Ive been to Disney World 30 times ! Mari

Re: What's your pets name and why?

Romeo - my poodle mix rescue. His foster parent's called him Oreo but that was the name of my beloved poodle that I had for 16yrs. (I still miss her so much)

Lola - yellow lab rescue. She just looks like a Lola. She is precious.

Pixie - St. Bernard rescue. My husband always wanted to have a St. Bernard named Tiny and well Pixie just sounds cuter. Her nickname though is Big Mama.

Twinkie, she was part dingo/welsh corgi. Found her abandon in a roadside sumping area, with a german shepard who had passed away. We were gunna name her Foxy, but that sounded funny when you called her when guys were around.
Bambi, was my adopted collie from the next door neighbor. Me and thei kids had a contest who she came to with the name they chose. She came to me when I called her Bambi.

Re: What's your pets name and why?

We have an Australian Cattledog named Sydney because that is where I am from....now live in the US. We brought our old ACD from home but he passed away in 2004 so now we have Syd...... she is a sweetheart... So friendly for an ACD as they are usually aloof.

She said it was ok to use her name for my log in ;-)

What's your pets name and why?

My dog's name is Hershey. He has a dark brown brindle coat and a white stripe down his nose. I had a hard time naming him. Then I realized his dark brown coat was the color of a Hershey bar, and the name stuck.

My calico cat's name is Mischief. When she was a kitten, she was constantly getting into things and causing trouble.
One day I was thinking about how she kept causing Mischief, and her name was chosen.

My other cat was born outside to a feral mother. He has super thick, long, grey tabby marking fur. He looks like he has Maine Coon in him. My mom suggested that we name him Mayhem, so now we have Mischief and Mayhem, both of whom live up to their names.
