Whew......I can drive but now what

I just my okay to drive yesterday and now it seems like all my responsibilites are right back on me. I had to drive three kids to two different schools and pick up. Then DD forgot her lunch so I had to take it to her. We had appointments for haircuts and then oldest DD had to go to the dr as she has been sick for 10 days. Good thing I took her as she has strep. Anyway, my point in all this is that it seems that now since I can drive that means that I can just go back to my usual running around dropping kids here and there. I am so beat today!! Guess I will just have to speak up and ask. But who wants to take MY kids for haircuts and dr appointments.

Its just frustrating trying to not wear myself out during all this. I know I need to take care of me and I will but after days like today, its just a bit much

thanks for letting me rant.

Sounds to me like you are doing a little too much driving.

I did not feel up to driving until just after three weeks. What I didn't realize was how much energy and straining it takes to get in and out of the car as well. You are just over two weeks post op and in my opinion, you are doing too much.

At this point, you should just be driving to the post office or grocery store and back. Nothing major and not too long.

Who was driving your kids around while you were in the hospital and while you weren't allowed to drive? How did it become out of control to the point where you are driving so much?

I can understand having to get your child to the doctor, but I think the haircuts can wait. At least another week. You have to pick your trips, I guess. Which ones are the most important and which ones can wait until you are feeling better.
Do the errands and running around over three days, not in one day.

Hope you can delegate some of the driving back to who was doing it before. Just say you have jumped back into the game too soon and need to step back a bit.

Good luck.

I'm really spoiled, but I hired a college student to help with the driving these past few weeks. Anyway you could swing that? I don't know how you are doing what you are doing. I had to lay down just after reading about it!
