My surgery is set

Hello
I had my pre op appt with my gyn today. I signed my consent paper, went over all questions I may have and went over recovery instructions.
He is writing me off of work for 8 weeks. I have a very physical job and he doesn't want me doing any strainous work. I will then go back to work on light duty. I can do light duty up to 90 dats and he thinks I should do that.
My dr. said if I don't follow his instructions carefully, my prolapses can very easily come back. The next step would be for me to go to the colon rectal surgeon to have my entire pelvic area reconstructed. I already have tons of scar tissue in my abdoman. He said it looks bad and no wonder I stay sore.
I went to the urologist appt. only to have it cancelled again. The receptionist said there are no urologist avaliable for weeks to do the uretha suspension with my dr. After reading the urodynamic tests results I found out I only have mild incontinence under high pressure. My dr. said we will go ahead with the prolapse surgery and if down the road I have problems with the stress incontinence I could get a tvt or tot done outpatient. That is fine with me.
mY gyn also did a internal today. He said I have a small cystocele. I don't know if he is going to repair it or not. I do know he is fixing the large rectocele and enterocele. Hopefully he will do the anterior repair too, so he won't ever have to go back in there.
My surgery is Tuesday. I am glad to be getting this done finally. It has been a long road, with so many tests.

Thanks for all the support I receive here.
Peggy

Peggy.
I am so glad things are on the move for you girl! I wish you the best and it sounds likthe doc REALLY wants you to take it easy for a good long while---and you better do it..LOL I have stress incontinence and I have had it since I was pregnant and it never left, because after birht, my uterus tilted. After the hyst however it doesn't come as frequent only if i cough really hard, like choking...before it was laughing, sneezing, lifting, squatting, anything and it is hereditary for me...all the women in my immedtae family have it. My GYN said I could have someone look at it, but no biggie right nowuntil it becomes more uncomfortable for me. Please keep in touch and let us know the date and how you are doing.
I will send my special prayers for you and your family and the docs performin the surgery.
