Night sweats and not sleeping

(((huskypit))), you are still very early post op, and it can take several weeks for your hormones to level out even if you kept your ovaries. Meanwhile, the (((sisters))) have given you some great ideas on ways to manage the night sweats.

(((MikeyFan))), hormone testing is seldom as helpful as we think it will be, and it's not necessary to get your hormones tested before starting on HRT (or other meds for menopausal symptoms). Most DRs prefer to prescribe HRT's (or other meds) according to symptoms rather than hormone levels anyway, since every woman feels best on different levels of hormones.

Have you seen this list of symptoms of too much and too little of the three hormones?:

too much/too little

Perhaps you could print out a copy, check off the symptoms that apply to you and bring it to your DR for your next appointment.

For more information on HRT's, you might want to visit the Hormone Jungle forum; and, for non-hormonal symptom relief ideas, check out the No-Hormone Desert Oasis forum.

I hope this helps!
