Is any one else one the Climara patch?

My doctor has had me on the Climara patch scince the day he did my surgery. When I went and got the prescription he said I could get the generic brand so I did. Well I did that for a month and still had a bunch of really "fun" hot flashes. My husband also pointed out that I am "more ditsy than I usually am". He started pointing out these moments to me and I am shocked. I start a sentence and then just walk away and when he would call me back I had totally forgot that I even started saying any thing untill he reminded me. So the dr said I should try the name brand of the patch instead of the generic and I started that Tuesday. I was just wondering if any one else was on it and not really understanding what the diffrence is between name brand and generic, aren't they the same thing but one is just cheaper??

Climara patch

Hi:

I am on the Climara patch, have been since surgery. I started with .1mg, then went down to .5, then back up to .1

I guess I thought my forgetfulness was just from getting older!

I have had no problems at all with the patch, it definitely has been ok for me.

Is any one else one the Climara patch?

I'm on Climara as well - .1 mg. every week.

I started on the name brand, because my doctor provided me with a bunch of samples. Once we figured out that they worked great, I got a prescription filled at my pharmacy.

The generic chaps my *** - LITERALLY!!!! I had huge rashes and even larger hot flashes when using the cheaper ones. Not to mention the fact that they only stayed on for about four days.

Luckily my doctor now writes me a script for the name brand.

I'll never again get Climara in the generic form!
