thank you for all the good info and encouraging words. i know that the hysterectomy may not totally stop the migraines but any relief is sure welcome!!!! at least that would narrow down my list of problems!!! hahahaha

If your migraines are hormone-related, you could experience relief after ovaries are removed. But what happens when they put you on hormones? Is it the hormones themselves that cause migraines, or is it the abnormal output of hormones from the ovaries that cause them?

I have suffered from migraines for years. Now, I know exactly what causes them. If I have too many carbs in the afternoon and evening, I wake up with a migraine. If I eat sweets at night, even so much as a fruit popscicle, I wake up with a migraine. I am hypoglycemic. What happens is that the sugar causes a hangover, as if I had drunk alcohol.

I have a friend who traced his migraines to aspartame (nutrasweet).

In addition to low blood sugar, other causes of migraines are food sensitivities, candida (yeast) overgrowth in the intestines, wheat products, dairy products, and yeast in foods.
