Just wondering ??

Good Morning everyone,

I was just wondering if it is wrong to want to celebrate being on hopefully my last cycle. This one like the rest is very painful and just all around bad. I keep telling myself not much longer to go, and there will be no more. But, I am still scared of the surgery and evrything that comes afterwards, and am afraid "What if something goes wrong." But, I know that I need to have this done so that I can have some sort or normal life again. The PMS is just unbearable and so are the cramps, and not really being able to go anywhere for about 10 days because of being afraid of having an accident in public. I will not miss this. Just wanted to know if anyone else feels this way..Just glad it is going to be over, but still afraid to get this done ??

Thanks for letting me vent !!

Michele

Hi ((( Michele )))

You sound pretty normal to me. I had my hyst because of precancerous tumors and felt very much the same way. I'd think every day - oh boy, another day closer - oh no, another day closer! I wanted it done and over and was scared about the "what ifs " too.

I don't blame you for wanting to celebrate the end of the conditions that give you so much misery.

I'll be that all goes well for you.

Just wondering ??

I can relate. I am closing in on my three year hysterversary. I was looking forward to getting it over with, but yes, I worried about the "what if's", the fear of the unknown, would I get through surgery and recovery with none of the complications, how bad would the pain be.

I was fortunate, I didn't have any complications (except about 10 days post op a bout of constipation made worse by a nasty little hemorrhoid that decided that was the opportune time to make its presence felt); overall the post op pain was much less than I anticipated.

The best thing you can do for yourself is try to keep yourself busy so the time passes more quickly. Spend time with family and friends, maybe do some special things you've been putting off like going to the movies, out to dinner, etc.

S and best wishes!

Thanks so much for the reply.. I think I will treat myself to something special. Other than shopping for things I'll need while staying at "The Castle". It does help to know that this too shall pass. And I really am looking forward to no more cramps, or untimely pop ins from Aunt Flow. LOL

Thanks

jmk9903,
mlweeman is right, my neighbors are taking me out for a girls night out dinner and a movie on Friday. I am really looking forward to the escape from all this. My DD and I are also getting my recovery room ready. So keeping busy is excellant advice to keep your mind busy on other things. I am doing everything possible to keep my mind and body busy with other things. I know there are those times when your mind slows down and thoughts fill it. But I have found that reading my bible or just praying can help focus me back on what's important. Feeling better and pain free. I hope this helps.

Just wondering ??

I have actually heard of women throwing a party and handing out left over tampons and pads as party favors.

That sounds like a great idea some of my coworkers and I are having a pedicure night. Sounds relaxing huh. I'm incredibly lucky to have such a great group of people supporting me through this.

Celebrate

My wonderful friends threw me a Uterus Wake the week before my surgery. My DD's attended as they were once housed there. I even had a uterus cake where I was able to cut the stuff all out of. We had lots of laughs and helped to calm me. Everyone should have friends like mine!

Rosie

PS: my leftover tampons, napkins & insteads were split between my two daughters upon my return from the castle. Of course, they each have their preference so they were swapping and trading...tampons were flying everywhere. Yeah, the laughter wasn't good for the stomach....I had to leave the room.
