post-op discharge, what's normal?

I am almost 3 weeks post-op having had my surgery Jan. 10 and am just now having a small amount of bloody discharge. Is this normal? I am feeling great and went back to work on Friday the 21st. I have a desk job so there is no lifting or stretching or anything like that.

post op discharge, what's normal

I would definitely call the doctor, just to put your mind to ease. Mine started about two weeks post op, and they said to call back if it was still happening after a week. Sure enough, it went away a week later! By the way, I was three weeks post op yesterday, and I feel so much better. I went back to work at two weeks also. Every week is such an improvement over the past week. (I slept on my side at two weeks, and it hurt...but I slept on my side last night and didn't even realize I was doing it!)

post-op discharge, what's normal?

I am almost 8 weeks post op and the discharge had been tapering off and now since I came back to work 1 1/2 weeks ago Its back and after every shift I work I have blood tinged toilet paper. (I have mostly a sitting job) so I cant imagine why Im bleeding now. Also, during sex my hubby can feel something "scratchy" I wonder if some of my stitches remain?? At my 4 week post op apt my doc said 2 were not ready yet. She even tried to pull them out(no luck) Any ideas???

post-op discharge, what's normal?

I didn't have any discharge problems until 1wk post op. Just light spotting, but hadn't had any until then
I went to MD for a 2wk post visit and he said
The vagina has no other way to deal with the stitches (foreign body) so it makes more and more mucus to try to remove the foreign body. THey said that a dark discharge would be normal, old blood and any oozing from stitches kind of thing
And that you could expect vaginal discharge for the full 6wks at least, potentially.

Just passing on what I was told,
I did call the nurse and ask after it lasted a couple of days
