Post op 2 weeks

I am glad that I found this site. I have questions but not sure where to ask them without bothering my doctors office.

I'm 38, TAH for a large symptomatic uterine fibroid. They showed me the pictures after surgery; my uterus was over 6 inches tall and about that round also. The fibroid measured 12 cm in size. My previous C-section line is twice the length as before. I feel so much better and I am noticeably happier everyday. I am 2 weeks post op and need to find out if what I am "feeling" is normal. I am getting around okay. I have not really started to walk everyday but try to at least walk around the house and yard.
I guess that I am not sure how to describe what I am feeling and need to know if anyone else knows what I'm talking about and or if this is normal. My question is...when I go to the bathroom, about the time I am finished emptying my bladder, it feels like a brick has been put on my bladder/lower abdominal area. Like someone dropped something heavy there. Is this normal? I had an extended stay in the hospital because I could not pass gas or go BM. After CT scans and x-rays they discovered I had a partial bowel blockage caused by what appeared to be a cyst or fluid build-up around a portion of my large intestine. After a day of strong IV antibiotics, they gave me bowel prep to clear me out. Still painful to go BM but not as bad. Everything seems to be, somewhat, getting back to normal.

Any ideas? I would love some feedback. Just wondering I guess if this could be adhesion forming or something, I should call my doctor about.

Thank You

Hi Kim,

Sorry you are having some discomfort. You are very early post op, so some pressure may still be there from all that was done.

Just to be on the safe side I would call the dr describing your symptoms and let them decide if this is a normal feeling or not. You just put the ball in there court and then you know, and you won't worry about it all weekend since it is Friday tomorrow and you will at least get some feedback.

Oh, if you would please, so others can better help with their replies, could you put your surgery date in your profile? You just go to the top of the page and click on Profile to the right of your name and go in there and add it. It will show up on the left of your posts.

Well, let us know how you do, okay? I hope things get better for you.
