Anyone have a Mirena

I am 3 weeks post op TAH and I have just started to have insomnia. I am also getting hot flashes at night time and can't stand being in bed. Thank goodness it is winter time I don't know how I would cope with this in a hot summer. I had a mirena coil before the op so I imagine that my progesterone levels have dropped which would explain things. I am hoping it will settle eventually as I kept my ovaries. Has anyone who had a Mirena had this experience post op? Also has anyone tried progesterone cream and compared it to HRT medication?

Best wishes

Anyone have a Mirena

Hi annie,

I have not had a Mirena , but I did do a Search at the top of the page and found this thread by putting in Mirena.

Also, sometimes progesterone works for some women and others not so good. I tried it before my surgery and had some luck when I had ovaries and uterus, but not once I had everything out.

I hope you can find relief for your symptoms . You might like to look at our Resource library at the top of the page for some help under the Hormone and No Hormone sections.
