No hot flashes yet

I hope this is the right place to ask. I'm 10 days post op from a TAH BSO. So far, no hot flashes. The doctor had initially told me that I might've gone through menopause and not really had symptoms because I'm 51, produce too much estrogen and also have taken 0.5 Xanax in the evening for panic attacks. My doctor told me that I would've started having hot flashes about day 3 while still in the hospital. I've felt nothing except the normal post op discomfort. Is his 3-day timing just the norm and I could still be in for the no-hormone desert?

Could be that the three-day post-hyst is the norm for menopause symptoms to appear. When I had my TAH/BO, my doctor started me on Premarin the day after surgery. I'm guessing that meant hot flashes, etc. could have kicked in very soon after.

My doctor didn't tell me any specific timeline, but then he didn't tell me much of anything before surgery (or maybe after the word "cancer' I didn't hear anything else.

But day 3 would seem about right. I was 40 when I had my surgery, and not having any friends who talked about this stuff, I didn't even know what was happening the first time. It was during my 5 day hospital stay, though.

things seem to have calmed down now, after 2 years. thank goodness.
