Prolapse? Not sure...Help

Hi,
I had my hyst. back in august. Well about 2-3 weeks ago, I was a victim of spousal abuse. Later I started having some pain and bleeding. My lower back and abdominal area were painful. Now the past few days, I am having sharp cramps, a stinky discharge and blood. I have a doctor appt. tommorrow. However, tonight, I kept feeling like something was in there, like a tampon type feeling. So, I felt inside and low and behold, there is some freaky bulbous thing in there. What the heck is that? Has anyone experienced this? I am really worried. I hope someone can tell me something..
Thank You,
Cathy

Oh ((((Cathy)))) I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time right now

Some of your problems do sound familiar: they are just about what I was feeling when I first found the rectocele. I must say I'm relieved that you were seeing your doctor doctor today.

Please let us know how the appointment went, when you feel up to it.

Still having problems

Thanks for your replys. My doctor was not much help. Well, actually my doctor was not available and the one that was seemed to think everything was ok eventhough there was blood on his glove after examination. He did not feel the bulbous thing.
I am still bleeding with discharge. I guess I will try another doctor if problem persists.

Kathy,

I know exactly the feeling you are having. I just had sx for a total vaginal vault prolapse. The first thing I felt seemed like a golf ball size tumor in the vagina which just became worse and worse. Never mind that....many times a rectocele can't be felt by doing the exam lying down. My urogynecologist did find mine while I was lying down, but he also had me stand up and bear down. It was a much more thourough exam than my gynecologist did. Urogynecolegists specialize in these repairs and know what they are looking for where some gynecologists know, but just as many if not more don't. I would recommend seeing a urogynecologist if you can find one in your area.

Sorry to hear about the spousal abuse...that's terrible and so sad. Good luck and hope you feel better.
