What a bloater!

any advise on how to minimise the big bloated belly after hysterectomy! Its causing me more depression than anything else and Im so sick to death of wearing skirts cos cant get my jeans on! Cutting out caffeine seems to be helping a bit?
Any advise greatfully received.

What a bloater!

I suspect that being upright (standing or sitting) has something to do with this. I still have days where I feel like I'm carrying a brick in my belly (and it's still numb, too -- very odd feeling indeed).

I had a stomach binder they gave me at the castle that I still wear occasionally. It doesn't make my tummy flat (since I'm not a size 8 anyway, that doesn't bother me) but it helps support things and feels good that way.

the pillsbury doughboy!

Swelly belly is ridiculous! I am small, like a size 4 after I've had a big meal, and I look like I swallowed a VW beetle! It takes time, in my experiences with other abdominal sugeries. It gets worse with activity, better with rest.I'm not even thinking about jeans-how do feel about yoga pants?

What a bloater!

I hear you on the swelly belly issue.....
I am beginning to wonder if I should opt to buy new jeans.
Depressing.
I hate the pooch look. I just know someone is going to ask me when am I due.
And the feeling of a brick or at least something heavy being in there is driving me batty. Feels just like I am carring a baby in there.
The itching is no fun either.

Hope we all get over this soon.

What a bloater!

Same here - big - bloated - pregnant looking tummy by late afternoon. I am so miserable!!!! I had a LAVH on Dec. 16th and was told by several people that I look like I had lost weight - well, not anymore. I have had the swollen tummy for the past 2 weeks and can't hardly wear my jeans.
