complex cyst ~ just what I need!

it has been over 3 months since my surgery and I had been feeling pain all the time on my left side, my Doc recommended that I have an ultrasound. Well I received the results today and found out that I have a complex cyst on my left ovary. Now it is the "watch and wait" thing. Great this is all I need! I just want to know how this cyst could have developed that fast? And I have never heard of a complex cyst! I should have had everything taken out! Does anyone have any information on complex cysts or have they gone through this? Thanks!

Me too

I am 5 weeks out from my surgery...took baseball size fibroid and uterus, cervix...left both ovaries. I was having a lot of abdominal pain and discharge...went to the doctor...did ultrasound...now he says I have a cyst on my left ovary. I would love to know where it came from. He says he will check me in 6 weeks...he's hoping it disappears.

complex cyst ~ just what I need!

I had a SAH on 1-6-05 also for huge fibroids ( uterus weighed in at 1380 gms ) I haven't had much pain other than the usual swelling & soreness. Do you think these cysts are related to your surgery or just coincidence? It seems if there were one there your Dr. would have seen it. Take care and keep us posted on your condition. Hope all goes well for you.

complex cyst ~ just what I need!

This seems to be happening to all of us!

I am 18 months out from surgery and during a CT scan (for other medical reasons), they found a 6.7cm cyst on my left ovary, right ovary was clear. We did the ultrasound and the doctor waited 6 weeks and ordered another one, and lo and behold, the 6.7cm is now an 8cm and I now have a 3.7cm cyst on the right ovary. Now I have to have them removed on March 22nd. And due to having a blood clot in my arm, I will not be able to take hormones any time soon after the surgery. I'm sure my family will pack up and move out! lol

At the time of my original surgery, he (ex-doctor) said my ovaries looked fine so he left them, even though I wanted them out, just because of the stories I've heard about people having to go right back into surgery to have them removed. Just my luck, I'm one of those people. Because of the size, they have to be done through abdominal surgery, another 4-6 week recovery time.

Guess I'm lucky though, because I have very little pain and mainly feel a 'pulling' sensation.

I was told mine on the right was complex, meaning it can be filled with fluid, tissue, and/or blood. They did a CA125 after they found the first one and it was completely normal, thank God.

I guess some of us are just the lucky chosen ones...haha

Good Luck to everyone..I know how you feel

Here I go again Cysts on Ovaries now...more surgery 2 years later

Hi Sisters !

I've been trying to regulate my HRT...went to the Dr today and have ovarian cysts! Pretty painful! And here I thought I'd keep the ovaries to avoid menopause...well they quit working about 8 months after surgery.

An now I have cysts that are VERY painful! I go tomorrow to the specialist that did my hyster but my Primary Dr. has already said they sould come out....

Here I thought my HRT was making me sick on my stomach and such when it was the ovaries...

Anyone else had to go back in and have ovaries removed down the road after having a hyster?

I'm kind glad though that I won't have to worry about ovarian cancer this way...I just dread another surgery. BUT hope and pray I start feeling better again!!!!

complex cyst ~ just what I need!

An ultrasound 3 December 2004 revealed a complex ovarian cyst on my left ovary that was 11cm and fibroid tumors elswhere. I decided to have a TAH with a possible BSO. Gyn said the left ovary was filled with clear fluid and the right ovary was "fused" to the fibroids and uterus. The end result was TAH/BSO.otion:
