3 weeks post op, I still hurt, is this normal

Hello sisters.
I am 3 weeks post op today from a TAH with cervix removed, 1 overy left that is not functioning, and extreme adhesion removal everywhere, and I am still hurting so bad. Mainly aches and soreness. I feel like I should be fine and ready to get back to normal life, just a trip to the doctors and a stop to grab scrips puts me out. I guess I didnt realize that it would take so long to heal, should it?
If any of you have any clue when I will be out of bed again, please let me know,
Jill

3 weeks post op, I still hurt, is this normal

I guess all of the above, I have had some problems with a nicked bladder so I do expirence sharp pains with that. I guess it just depends on which way I am sitting, mainly a pressure with a dull ache with an occasional shooting pain, if I stand up for longer then 15 minutes I swell up so bad and the throbbing pains sets in. I cant even really explain it, but it is continuous.

not yet feeling purple

i am few days short of 3 weeks post op and also feeling like i should be. but am not , better. Started w/menstrual like cramps yesterday and now spot bleeding. A little freaked out... I had TAH everything everything taken out due to 25 years of cysts, endro, incredible cramps for 2 out of 4 weeks a month. BC Pills to try to control cysts leading to migraines from hormones. Oh i can't wait to be able to enjoy not having to deal with all that. But today at 44 (this week) with 3 children and helpful husband & friends and demanding job - all waiting for me to say i'm better! I feel frustrated and kinda sad that i'm not yet.

Some of the ladies that post here have stated that week3 is one of the hardest weeks. Just remember gals, its still early in the recovery process. Take time to heal and listen to your bodies. Call your doctor and relay what you're feeling and see what they say also.

Please take care of yourselves. It gets better, I promise.

3 weeks post op, I still hurt, is this normal

Hi,
I am almost 2 weeks out, and I am feeling the same way, some mornings are better than others. I tried to "unplug" a toilet and thought I hurt myself. I am now taking tylenol for pain and aleve for swelling. The pain sometimes is unbearable, and i almost find it easier to stand (as of this morning). I do help your pain gets better sooner than later. Try not to do too much... I have 2 sons, 1 being a teenager and they have been a huuuuugggeee help. I hope to feel better soon so they dont get too burnt out...(boy, they sure do appreciate all I do though)...good luck, and remember, the nurses and doctors can help with helpful information right over the phone...keep your chin up....

POST OP PAIN

I am just about three weeks out for a TAH kept both ovaries. I am having only minimal pain right now and don't take any meds. So if anyone is having severe pain Please speak to your doctor. My problem is that I am not sleeping at night, and very little during the day. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

Vive/not sleeping

Vive,

I am 3 wks post op also. I was having problems sleeping also. I talked to my doc about this and she gave a script for Ambien. And that has helped me sleep like a baby! I wish you all the best.
