Talked with the Doc today.........

Well i talked it over with the oncologist today, and we decided it would be better to wait the three weeks, repeat the CA-125 and then probably start Chemo. He explained that although he is 98% sure the cancer is back, it is better to re-test just to make sure the lab did'nt make an error or the radiolgist did'nt read the CT scan wrong. He said that it was only a slight chance that something like that can happen, but once we start Chemo again then we are committed. He is going to use some kind of Chemo called
"Toe-poe-tee-can". I can't spell it, but that is how it is pronounced. I've never heard of it, but he said it was once a week for about 3 months. Sounds like some kind of Hawaiian cocktail to me. Anyway I feel better about waiting than I did before. I asked about further surgery to remove the nodules, but he said he felt they were too small and it probably would not be beneficial at this point. I go back on March 4th.

Hi Sugar,

I'm glad you got to talk with your doctor today and are feeling more comfortable about things.

Topotecan is a chemo agent often prescribed for platinum-resistant cancers.

I like the Hawaiian cocktail analogy; not a bad visualization!
Picture calm, beautiful beaches, amazing sunsets, and volcanos blasting that cancer right out of your body!

All the best,

Hi Sugar, looks like you have a very cautious doctor there; glad you talked things over. I know the waiting will be hard but please keep those postive thought going. I am keeping you in as you move toward blasting any nasties miles and miles away.
