Lacey, I am sorry you are suffering like this. Please put pressure on your Gyn to help you. You don't have to suffer like this, but it sounds like they aren't going to help you unless you INSIST.

If you kept your cervix and are spotting and cramping once a month, it means you are still having a menstrual period. The uterine lining extends down into the cervix. They can perform a medical procedure on your cervix to stop this from happening anymore.

Did you have endometriosis? If so, could it be returning?
If menstrual fluid from the cervix flows backwards into the abdomen, can it cause endometriosis?

Also, ask your doc about hormone levels. I have read that progesterone eases menstrual cramps.

I had really bad depression before my surgery. The day after surgery, I started taking Effexor. It has been such a blessing, as it totally removed the tears and depression. I feel normal again, like I haven't felt in years.

As for the weight gain, it's most likely because you aren't able to exercise much due to the pain you are in. For now, the best thing to do is stop eating high-glycemic foods, such as: sugar, potatoes, rice, rice cakes, white flour (bread, biscuits, pancakes, pastries, cake, pie crust, pretzels, crackers, etc.), Gatorade, ice cream (unless sugar-free), french fries, dates, potato chips, corn chips, maltose sugar, and tofu frozen dessert. These things go to fat really quickly, and trigger appetite and binges.

Good luck to you, and I hope you post to say that you got help!
