for good or bad, i have a date.

I have had 3 different docs tell me that i need a hyst. After having a lap, d/c, and hystoscopy in Nov. the doc says if i am still in pain that it is time for the hyst. Even though i am not in as much pain as before, my periods are still 10 days on, 14 days off and i still have some pain all the time. I wonder if i am making the right choice, if i was in as much pain as before there would be no doubt. I have been told that the pain will eventually return, so might as well get it over with while i'm healthy and 42 yrs young. I will have a tvh-bso with bladder tack and a/p repair for prolapsed uterus, adenmyosis, cyst, cystocelle, and rectocelle. My date is 2-14-01. what a valentines gift i'm getting. LOL. I was the story that never ended (been going around and around with this since june of 2000.) Well i finally have an ending, for good or for bad.

I understand your grief. Sounds like you've done everything you could. I will have my TAH BSO Appie and AP on Friday, 26th of Jan. Saturday is my anniversary, 2/9 is my birthday, then my son's bd 13th, Valentine's, my husband's bd...My DH has to have surgery 1/30 for polyps, pray it is not cancer. So "what more can I say". It seems to be a never ending story.

Better to have it over, than to live with the pain. I pray you get peace about it and hang on...you'll be doing better once it is over.

I debated about the surgery for a long time too & my pain doesn't sound like it was as severe as what you have been through! I am only 31- young for a TVH, but...
My husband, when asked for his opinion, said something that made sense-- "If I were in this much pain, what would you tell me?"
The surgery is probably going to be less painful for you than what you are already dealing with! And for any recommendations you want to take from someone who is 3 wks post-op, please see my other post of this evening-- I hope this helps you.
God bless!
