bleeding,pain in right side

I have lots of questions!! I hope someone can help me out.
I had TAH in november of 2003. Kept ovaries.
Recently been having bouts of bleeding and pain in lower right side.....I am so scared and I don't really understand all of this stuff. What could it be? What do I do? I have scheduled an appointment with the Dr. who did my surgery on Tuesday 2/22. But in the mean time...I am freakin' out!! Someone please help ease my mind. I would rather take opinions from those of us that have been through this than those "people" who have not but think they know how we feel....Any response is most welcome ...Thank you Will post more about me later.

Hi! I'm so sorry you are having problems! I hope we can offer you some comfort! And I hope your doctor can give you some relief and some answers!

Have you noticed if the pain/bleeding comes in patterns? (like when you would normally be ovulating?) Do you have a history of cystic ovaries? Can you give us any more of a history of why you had your Hyst? How long has this been going on? (I know - so many questions! Here you are asking questions - and getting more in return!)

Take care of yourself!

First off I would like to thank you for taking the time to write.
Well here is a little about me and why I had to have a TAH. After the birth of my son 15 years ago I started having very heavy periods. I couldn't stay dry,no matter how I tried..I could wear two over night pads and a tampon and still soak my clothes. Along with the heavy bleeding I was also blessed with baseball sized clots. The DD who delivered my son said that it was caused by being overweight. Now keep in mind that I was only 125 pounds and I only gained about 15 lbs with the pregnancy. And that I lost every pound that I had put on TWO days after he was born!! I was also blessed with double water sacs. That seemed to be her answer for just about everything.!!Well I thought at the time maybe she is right....NOT. I was still having very heavy periods and no relief from the crippling cramps. I gave birth to my daughter 5 years later and still no help or answers as to why.Needless to say I got rid of her "quackiness".!! We moved to a town 25 miles away and there I found a DD that I trully liked. Well to try and sum things up......(I could keep going on and on) she referred me to a wonderful Gynecologist (whom I think is a GOD) and she did an internal/external ultrasound. She said that I had ..forgive me but cannot remember the whole name of it ...Something dysplasia. so she performed a test where they take a sample of your tissue...That hurts likes hell. Well she got the tests back and said that I should really think about having a TAH because there some suspicious cells that could be cancer. that wasn't what I was really wanting to hear atleast the part about the "C" word anyway...I was all for the surgery..It went fine and recovery was ok...Man does it hurt to sneeze.!! My anniversary date was November 19 2004 !! One year period free!!! and problem free.....or so I thought until recently.....I have been lifting heavy things and having to take care of my mother who is not in the best health. So I just associated the pain in my back and sides to that....then I started bleeding...I thought uh-oh now ya did it. You did way too much ....So I called the DD and she said to rest for a few days and see if that helps...Nope ..So I had to go see her and that is when she told me that I have a few cells at the top where they sewed everything back together that were bleeding. GREAT now what do I do...Complete rest until Tuesday when I see my gynecologist. Back pain is nearly gone but still have tenderness in abdomen and right side.....I hope this helps for the more info.....thanks again for taking the time to help me out!!! I really do appreciate it....More than you know

bleeding,pain in right side

I was thinking that maybe you were having adhesions - and that was what was causing your new pain. The timing sounds right - but I'm not sure about that causing you bleeding. So I don't think that's it! (hence the lack of the medical license!) Is the bleeding heavy? Or is it light spotting? Can you explain the pain? Is it intense? Or "tugging", etc?

Sounds like you had an awful time with your first doctor! I'm glad you found one that would listen to you!

I hope you are able to take it easy this weekend.....take a nice hot bath and rest!

bleeding,pain in right side

Thanks for caring!! Yes I believe I WILL take it easy this weekend.
The pain is mostly dull ...no severe pain...The bleeding has stopped....thank goodness....The bleeding was light but bright red so that was freakin' me out...Didn't notice it until wiped. I am really thinking that the pain is from lifting all that heavy stuff...Right now it is mostly in my back on the right side..and that muscle is HUGE...so I am going to keep my fingers crossed...Thanks again.

Actually - I've always heard that the bright red blood was a "good" sign (if blood can be seen as such!). I guess that means that it's from a source that's close to where you're seeing it..... (again....obviously I'm not a doctor!!!!!!!!) But the DARK red (almost black) is the blood you should be really worried about - it comes from inside. You are probably ok! Hopefully your doctor can put your fears to rest on Tuesday! Try to catch up on a good book or some good movies over the weekend!
