2 months post op

Hi there Everyone,

Well it's just over 2 months since my surgury and I've just returned to work. I've done a full weeks work and feeling really tired, which is more than expected. I've had my up and down days, and some days I struggle to look at babies which I'd find hard to deal with as do not understand these feelings as my partner and I had talked about having more kids, and decided not to. Has anyone else had these feelings and is it ok to feel this way. Well the only complaint that I really have is that I'm tried and struggle to sleep of a night time with night sweats and hot flushes and helpfull hints would be great. Hope to hear from someone soon.

Thanks
God bless

Hi Chickybabe!

It sounds to me like you are doing quite well for being only two months post-op, but are having a few "bumps in the road" on your way to a full recovery. If it's any consolation to you, all the issues you describe have been experienced by the members here. Since you kept your ovaries, the "menopausal" symptoms you mention may be only temporary -- let's hope so! If they continue, however, please check with your doctor. There is help available, and there is no need for you to have to continue to suffer.

The emotional feelings you describe when you see babies is very common among women who have had hysterectomies. It might help you to share those thoughts in our Aching Hearts Forum, which is designed for members experiencing grief and feelings of loss.

Many s and Best Wishes to You!
