Internal Stitches

Hi there. I'm 2 weeks out today and had a stitch come out yesterday and two smaller pieces this morning, in the bathroom. Anyone else have this happen? Is this OK or should I call my DR? Thanks for all the posts here...this has been a lifesaver for me.

I've read that is normal. I have been looking for a stitch ever since I read that and never found any. Also heard can get some foul odor from stitches disintegrating(yuck) but again this is normal.I read that it most noticable around 4 wks. Make sure your not doing too much. You can split statches.Take care!

Internal Stitches

Yeah, before I left the hospital Sunday, my nurse told me what had happened to her. She felt a little nubble there by her stitch line about a month after her surgery. Sure enough it was a stitch that did not desolve & it popped out. So she said don't be alarmed by that. It can happen, so I am glad for this little advice. I always have allot of questions, stuff they never tell you about either.

Internal Stitches

i celebrated my 3 weeks anniversary yesterday (TVH) and have too experienced seeing purplish stitches. My doctor told me as well that it may happen so i was not surprised but kind of thinking maybe this means i am healing normally. I expect to be feel ing pretty good at 6 weeks since that is when i will likely return to work! I never really knew my body could experience so many weird pains and oddities. I had my hysterectomy vaginally but still have experienced hot flashes especially at night, and who knew i could be so tired so quicly. a 20 minute walk now feels like i have done 30 minutes on the elliptical? Our bodies will heal, we just have to relax and let it happen. Boring? yep, but as a mom and wife, honestly, this is the first time in years i am not running the house!
hope you feel good real soon

Ladies, thanks so much for the feedback. I'm happy to know it is not unusual, but will let my DR know when I see her Thursday. As always, what a wonderful resource.
Happy healing!
