Climara patch

Hello all. I have been using the Climara patch since my surgery on 1/19/05. I have a lot of itching, no matter where I place the patch and when I take it off every week, the skin where the patch had been kind of welts up and turns red. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Thanks.

Climara patch

Hi,
I started on the Climara patch about 4 weeks ago. I was first on Premarin. I had some reddening under the patch at first, but it seems to be lessening. My biggest problem with it is the gunk that sticks around the edges during the week, then doesn't want to come off when I pull off the patch. It's rather unsightly!

Climara patch

I've been on Climara since my surgery on Jan 3 and I've had the same problem. Mines seems to be lessening each week though, so I'm hoping that with time my skin will adjust to it and not be as irritated by the patch. I did switch to the Vivelle patch for a week due to the problem with the Climara, but I didn't like the way I felt on it and switched back to the Climara.

Climara patch

I just started on the Climera patch last tuesday, I was without hormones since Christmas, but was really suffering from insomnia. Decided to go back to taking hormones and see if it would help with the sleep issues. I havent removed my first patch yet, but hope it doesnt leave red irritation, but as far as getting the adhesive off, once you remove the patch, I use, Vaseline, or baby oil. Just put a dab on the adhesive residue a few minutes before you shower, and when you wash, it comes right off...
Good luck, all of you, you are all my heros!!!!

Climara patch

Snickers,
If you don't find help with the insomnia from the estrogen, you might try some progesterone. The Climara helped me with the hot flases, night sweats, but I still had insomnia and a foggy brain feeling. I added Prometruim a few weeks ago and now I am sleeping better and the foggy brain is fading. Of course everyone is different and the Climara alone might work great for you...but just in case I wanted to let you know what helped with my insomnia.
