Hot, Cold, Hot, Cold, Hot, Cold, You get the idea
Three weeks post op- kept my ovaries.
My body can't make up it's mind!
One day I'm so cold, a heater blowing on me isn't enough (I've NEVER been like this!), and two nights ago, I woke up drenched! I woke up and went- what the heck is this?? changed clothes, and then was freezing!
Today- I can't stand having long sleeves on, I'm so warm!
Just like a woman- can't make up her mind!
mj
I guess it's all in the process of healing!

Hi mjowest,
I haven't had it quite as bad as you,but know what you are talking about. Even with our ovaries it isn't uncommon to have the hormonal fluctuations. Sometimes it takes them some time to adjust to losing the blood supply from the uterus and sometimes they decide not to work at all or in a reduced capacity.
Have you talked to your dr about this? He/she might be able to help you out with some hormones to balance things.
You might also want to look over in the hormone jungle for ideas on what might help. This is a pretty common problem, I hope it gets better for you soon.
 's, Rita

Naw= I'm not complaining, just trying to make light of the situation!
Not ready to do the hormone thing-I'm going to wait it out a little longer!
I knew that there were others out there who understand!!

Hot/Cold...
Wow am I glad to find others with the same problem! I had my surgery last week. I'm so glad to find that I'm not totally crazy. Usually its the daytime I'm freezing (I've even used the blow-dryer to try to warm my feet! No, it doesn't work...) But at night, I've got the night sweats. Not so understanding this because I kept my ovaries AND my cervix..
I had no idea this was going to take so long to recover... I was hoping to be back to work in a few weeks but now I think I'll be lucky to get back before the end of next month..

Hi
Me too, TAH/BSO surgery 17th Feb awful sweats at night, freezing cold in the day even with the heating on. got to wait 8 weeks before DR will allow any kind of HRT, wonder why that is cos loads of ladies get issued with them before they leave the castle. I'm thinking for me the hot and cold might be due to the fact I have a water infection, so will wait and see.
