feeling like a bum!!!!

Hey girls~
I will be 3 weeks post op. on Tuesday. My first week I felt great. This past week I was really sore but tried to take it easy. I woke up today feeling really good other than my sleep schedule is so screwed up that I feel like I'm missing out on all my family time. They get and start working, have breakfast so forth and so on. I'm really starting to feel guilty about all they are doing. I feel like such a bum. I know, I know I should be taking it easy. I know that and they do as well. I just feel bad that they are working so hard. Trust me I want to help. Anyone else feeling this way?

Shorty 75

29 year old TAH Feb. 8th. Life made miserable because of endo! Pray it doesn't come back!

feeling like a bum!!!!

Me too Shorty! 2 weeks Post Op and I feel like I am bossing DH around! I hate the feeling and he has been the best just jumping at my smallest wim , but still on the days I feel good I just want to do something! I have been "working"' on the phone and computer a little everyday and that makes me feel better, but then I think that my associates think "she doesn't sound so bad...." and then will they doubt my DR's orders to not return to the office for 8 weeks?

I think half of the issue is that we are just used to being so busy! It's hard to just be still!

feeling like a bum!!!!

While I understand how you feel since we are used to as women taking care of everyone and everything, try thinking of this time as something positive instead of negative. Use this time to reflect on your life, your goals and your priorities. You will find that if you really think about it, there are some things that surely you would like to change. You will hopefully never have this kind of time to yourself again---take advantage of it, don't waste it. There are a lot of sisters who have made positive changes in their lives during their recovery. When I had my hyst, I really didnt' realize how burnt out I really was until I had to stay at home and recover.
Also take this time to start or work on a new hobby that you have always wanted to do.
Working on the phone and the computer should not be one of those options. This is your time to heal, not to work...and healing is just not physical, it is mental and emotional....so stop using the phone and computer for work---work will always be there when your recovery is over.
