sore tummy still?

Greetings everyone...I have been reading here since about one week before my TAH/BSO, I am 44 and at three weeks post-op my tummy all around my incision is still really tender feeling, is this swelly belly? Sometimes after I walk around or stand alot during the day I get these really sharp burning stabbing pains. Believe me I am NOT overdoing anything. DH is wonderful! and my mom stayed w/me for three days when he had to work. I had my 2 week checkup and the dr. said I looked like a 4 week patient inside & out healing great. I got a little dry cough (owey) at two weeks and the dr. said that it was something going around, but I have not done any harm, and I sounded good. Yesterday I woke up and my left side hurts when I take deep breaths all the way through me (like my lung might feel like), today I woke to terrible back pain between my shoulders. I feel fine though. I have not really done alot of walking outside because it's freezing. so, I am still taking some stool softners too, to keep things moving inside. Do you think maybe I'm not doing enough and my body is having withdraws from being a type A person when I was working? I never stop at my job on my feet all day and very mental work. I am going to ask the Dr. for the two week extension on my leave to 8 weeks because I don't think I can go back to what I do at 6 weeks. It will be all or nothing and I don't want to have a setback after I return and undo what I have done so far...No problems yet with hormones, I have had very minor hot flashes at bedtime but it only lasts a few minutes and then gone. I know that I have asked alot of questions but I hope someone can help me with some suggestions or input.

sore tummy still?

Greetings from your Michigan neighbor!
I am at four weeks here, and this week has been harder for me- I feel like I should be better than I am!
I think I'm not over doing it- but believe that I may have been bending over a little too much.
I think you need to give it time- it you want an extension from work- Go For It! you won't be sorry, and it won't hurt anything.
I am not quite a type A person, but I am a doer- so this inactivity is VERY hard!
Heal, heal, heal...we'll all get through this together!

sore tummy still?

I'm hardly type A, though I do/did tend to keep on the move. I must be a real wimp, because I'm back at work at 6 weeks (almost 7 now) and wish I'd gone for 8...my tummy is still sore. If you can do it, don't feel guilty about taking the extra time...our sisters in the UK are enlightened enough to take a lot longer, perhaps you'll hear from some of them.
