Swallowed a beach ball!

I had my left ovary and fallopian tube removed 12/13/04. I also had endometriosis cleaned out of my entire pelvic area. And I had an endometrial ablation.

I am back on a regular exercise plan . I lift twice a week and run five days a week. I feel great - better than I have for a couple of years (never knew I was anemic and had endometriosis). However, sometimes after I run as I am heading to the shower, I'll look in the mirror and I look like I swallowed a beach ball! I don't look like this otherwise, it doesn't matter what point I'm at in my cycle. My hip measurement is decreasing (that's what I'm tracking instead of weight) but my abdominal measurement is all wacky.

Is this normal after the type of surgery I had? When will it go away?

Swallowed a beach ball!

It sounds like you are experiencing some swelling. Do you have any tenderness with the swelling? If so, you might want to cut back a bit on your work out for a little while longer.

I think what you are experiencing is normal and will go away with time. I had a surgery similar to yours 10 years ago. It took me about 4 months before I didn't swell after activity that worked my abs.

BTW, I am in St. Paul also!
