No Preop?

I guess this is either a question or a concern. I am not being scheduled for preop. The Dr said it's because they did all that when I had the Laparoscopy (5 weeks ago) Does this sound right? Or should I be more insistant on it? I talked to the Hospital and they said it was up to the Dr. I do trust my doctor. I have been going to him for ever it seems like. Maybe he knows what's best.
Just wanted to blab I think. Thanks Ladies.

No Preop?

I guess maybe it depends on your dr. I had 2 surgerys only 3 weeks apart and had to have a pre-op both time, I thought it was crazy! Consider yourself lucky to not get poked again!~
Good luck to you!

No Preop?

I'm not a medical person, but I wouldn't be too concerned, assuming you don't have some kind of unstable medical condition - and I'm sure your Doc would have required a pre-op if you did.

The only other thing is... if you have been bleeding alot in the meantime, and you think your blood level is down from when they last checked it - make sure to let your Doc know that a day or two before surgery so they can re-check you when you get there. Otherwise, I'd be fine with it.

Best wishes for your surgery!

No Preop?

The last time I saw my Dr was the day we scheduled surgery, about 6 weeks out. I asked her at that time if I'd be seeing her before surgery and she said only if there was a change in my condition, otherwise this was it, so ask all questions now.

I did have a pre op apt at the hospital about a week before surgery. Signed a bunch of papers in admissions, met with a nurse for an extensive medical history interview, she told me what time to arrive and what would be happening from the minute I arrived, I also had to go to the lab and have blood drawn. Most of that could have been done the morning of surgery, so if you don't have a hospital pre op don't worry, it will get done.

Best wishes and S
