Anyone got any experiences with IC??

I was at the dr Monday and have experienced a lot of pelvic pain and he had the nurse do a test on my blatter. She stuck a catheter in me and poured some "solution" in my blatter then took the cath out and I waited 5 min w/ that in my blatter and she evaluated me (I felt nothing from ) that onethen I emptied my blatter. Then she put ANOTHER cath in and poured a different "solution" in my blatter (same process as before) and it hurt like crazy, and burned really bad when I emptied my blatter. So, I was diagnosed with a blatter condition called Interstitial Cystitis (IC). Has anyone heard of this test??? I never have and I've never heard of this condition. I'm on Elmiron right now and am following a special diet avoiding foods that irritate the blatter. This is very new to me, if anyone has any insight it would be appreciated.

Thank you

Anyone got any experiences with IC??

Have you visited the website for the Interstitial Cystitis Association? Excellent information. There is a link to Questions about IC which is very helpful. Experts in ic (doctors) answer questions.
There are so many with ic. There's a lot of support around - quite right..you are not alone at all! Be sure to take it easy and help yourself feel better. The diet can really help.
Wishing you all the best.
