Partial total

Hello Everyone,

My name is Shannon and I am 33 years old. I had a partial
hysterectomy in 1999 because of endometriosis. My endo was diagnosed
by laproscopy between the uterus and the rectum. While doing this
procedure my doctor slipped and cut my rectum open. What was suppose
to be same day, turned into a week and a half in the hospital.
Anyways, according to the new doctor, he did not remove all of the
endo and I have been dealing with pain on and off. Recently, within
the past year the pain has goten worse. I also deal with kidney
stones, so because of the flank pain that is what I thought it was.
The doctor I saw last Monday (the new gyn)examined me and did a
sonogram. This came back with abnormalities. He has scheduled to
finish the hysterectomy by taking my ovaries and burning endometrial
tissue and any adhesions or scar tissue.

My question is about hormone replacement therapy. I have heard not
to use Prempro and Premarin. Is there anything natural? What might
I expect my body to go through? Are there things that I should be
concerned about? Anything else that I need to know.

Thank you in advance for reading and responses. Sorry if I don't
make alot of sense, still trying to grab hold of this myself.

to the wonderful world of post op! Here is a link to several Hormone Articles from this site.

If you want to find it again in the future, just go up to the Hystersisters drop down link, find Hormone Articles and click go. There are plenty there to help you with your research.

There is also the Hormone Jungle and the Desert Oasis forums. I have had a good education on Hystersisters about HRT since my hyst.

I am on the Vivelle Dot .1-it is considered a bio-identical, which is like what your body makes. I have had to add testosterone cream too, that I apply on the labia and clitoris to help with libido.

Others have done the No HRT route, some with success and some without. You also have the additional endo to think about, and there are ladies in the Hormone Jungle that know lots about that!

I feel bad for you that you are going through this-you will find lots of support on Hystersisters!
