Prometrium and Hair Growth

Hi Sisters

I will post this again. I posted last Thursday but the post was messed up. I am on the 100mg of Prometrium. I had heard that progesterone is converted into Testosterone. DO any of you know if this is true and if so will Prometrium cause unwanted hair growth. I was on the natural Progesterone and Testosterone. I was on 5%testosterone and 2% Progesterone cream. I was having a lot of unwanted hair. I am very concerned the Prometrium will do the same. If any of you have any suggestions or comments, I would appreciate it.

I am assuming you are off the testosterone and only on the progesterone?? If that is the case it is unlikely although not impossible that the progesterone will convert enough to cause hair growth. 5% testosterone, depending on how much you were using sounds like a rather high wonder you had the hair growth.
good luck to you.

Prometrium and Hair Growth

About a year ago I was using the natural testosterone cream and did notice alot of unwanted hair growth. I am also on natural progesterone. I stopped using the testosterone and am still using the progesterone and have noticed no unwanted hair growth since I stopped using the testosterone.
Hugs :-)

Prometrium and Hair Growth

finally managed to get in. (of course there's a glitch in the transfer to the new server)

It's the testosterone not the progesterone. I'm almost positive about this. Especially if the testosterone is not bioidentical, it lingers for a long time and can build up. Progesterone doesn't becomes testosterone as much as free up other resources in your body to make your own. So, if you have a flood of it coming in from the cream, your body won't be sensing a need to make more of its own.

Are the two hormones in the same cream?

Prometrium and Hair Growth

Thanks everyone for your info. The hormone creams I was using were two different hormone compounded prescriptions. The progesterone was in a cream and then the testosterone was in another cream. I have stopped using both and now I am taking the Prometrium 100mg. I am just really concerned the hair growth will continue. I really hate it. I guess the 5% testosterone was to much for me.

Thanks everyone
