SVH - Experiences?

I have not seen too many ladies comment about their SVH - I go in Wed 2/7 and wonder how the surgery/recovery will be compared to what I am reading about TVH/TAH. Just getting real nervous, have two young children ( 2/5) and a husband who does a lot, but is not a good "care-giver". Any experiences good OR bad would be much appreciated - believe me, my imagination is probably my own worst enemy :-)

SVH - Experiences?

Pamela, I had a Supracervical Lap Hys which I belive is different from your SVH in that mine was done through total lap incisions, although it sounds like yours is going to be minimally invasive as well-no abdominal incision-no vaginal cuff?

I didn't have any lifting restrictions (no incisions either internal or externally)and was fine taking care of myself once I got home from the hospital, though my 12 year old daughter did laundry etc, because I was pretty tired for the 1st couple of weeks.

With young children you'll probably want assistance for a few days, but I bet you'll be up and running(at least walking & feeling pretty good) in no time at all!

My surgery ended up being truly a gift. My life is full and if I'd have known how 'easy' it was going to be I would have done it 12 months earlier.

You'll do great!

Positive thoughts,
