PMS after TAH?

My SO insists that I still cycle with some PMS. Is this possible? I heard once that it was if there was still endometrial tissue in the body. I do know that it seems like PMS, mood swings with uncontrolable choclate eating. It's just not nearly as severe as before the hyst. Anyone know about this?

Hi fritzi

I recently had a TAH, kept ovaries and have had enough time post op now that I have had my first PMS w/no uterus.. it's our ovaries producing all the hormones that causes our PMSing... I really did notice that my PMS symptoms were VERY minor in comparison to my last cycle pre-op. I also noted not nearly so much bloating now either! YAAAY!

Hope you have similar experiences.. or even better!

Hugz to you,
Rita PS: DUH, I need to pay attention, you don't have
your ovaries so you probably won't have PMS
any more... !? Best wishes to you...

PMS after TAH?

No, my ovaries are gone. But I vaguely remember reading something here about endometrial tissue continueing to cause PMS, or PMS-like symptoms. Thanks for your reply!

Hey fritzi :)

Hey again... hope you're having nice 1st day of Spring!

You still have your cervix, correct? Are you having any mini-periods? I'm unclear on the endometrial tissue and PMS, maybe someone else will see your post and give you the exact info that you're needing. I know I'm never too old to learn things, I learn things on here daily!

Hope you get your answer soon... Have a good one!

Hugz to you,

PMS after TAH?

Yes, I did keep my cervix. I'm going to the Dr. next week, I will ask while I'm there. Hopefully I'll remember! Thanks!
