Thumbs up - Movie for Easter Movie for Easter

Hi all
Tonight our church showed the movie "The Passion of the Christ" on a big, big screen in the church auditorium.

I had seen the movie a year ago and thought it was wonderful.
However, tonight I caught some things that I missed the first time through.

Of course I could not make it through the movie without crying, but it makes a person feel so good to know that we can have eternal life because of how Jesus died for us.

Since Easter is approaching I would highly recommend renting this movie and watching it whether you are a Christian or not and see the Last 24 hours of Jesus life come alive on screen.

It's something that will stay with you forever.

Movie for Easter

I agree, it's a great movie. However, I can't watch it ever again. It's much too intense.

My SIL was watching it when I called my brother yesterday. He's like me and said he couldn't watch it either. Said he got too angry and just wanted to punch those people who were torturing Jesus that way! (When I saw it, I wanted to yell at them to stop!)

But I do highly recommend it for anyone who hasn't seen it.

(When I saw it in the theater, I couldn't believe some folks actually had popcorn and drinks - it's not THAT kind of a movie!)

Movie for Easter

This movie really tells the story of what actually happened doesn't it? It was very powerful and intense. My DH and I plan to watch it every year around Easter - as a reminder of Jesus' love for all of us.

I have heard that Mel Gibson has made and released a less intense version. I haven't seen it.

Shashi, my husband and I went to the theatre last year when the movie had just been released. I was almost 5 weeeks post op and still hurting badly.

I actually DID scream out in the theatre for them to stop torturing Jesus. The movie was so very intense.

It made me feel as if I was truly a witness to Jesus' pain and crucifixion. I also couldn't believe that people were eating popcorn as if it was just another entertaining night out at the movies.

This is much more than a movie. It is powerful! It stirs and reaches to the very depths of one's soul. You leave the theatre feeling as if you have been an eyewitness to the most world shattering and life giving event in the history of mankind. ~

Movie for Easter

I watched "The Passion of the Christ" today with my DD, I also recommend it to anyone who until now has been afraid to watch it because of the graphic depiction, I couldn't watch parts of the movie and the sound alone made me distressed but I do commend Mel Gibson for making this movie, it's probably a close re-enactment and serves as a reminder of the sacrifice made for all mankind.

Movie for Easter

I had not seen it yet and have been scared to do so because I knew I was going to be upset and crying, but the church down the street was showing it last night. For weeks I said I was going, but when it came down to the wire last night, I couldn't go. I don't think I can handle it..I get very emotional inchurch anyway and cry most Sundays. One day I would like to see it, but don't know when that will be...still way tooo scared.

I'm like that too Marian, that's why I watched it at home, yes it is a very emotional movie and I had a good cry but it was worth it, a movie that really makes you realise.

We saw the movie when it was released and thought it was intense and strong, but so loved it. I really think everyone should at some point see this movie, I don't know how you could not be changed by it.

Unhappy - Movie for Easter the movie

It is not a movie you should not watch by yourself and it is a movie I would only watch only once. My husband even cried it was very emotional. Did any one see the other one. The movie was very moving it made me think about things in life it made me think about not to be so mean to others and try and be nice.
I don't think I can go through seeing it again.
