stomach pain & nausea

Susan,
To answer your question on whether any of the tests showed my GB to be enlarged---no---all my tests were negative. I do want to point out to you that you said the head nurse was concerned because you were awakened during the EGD. That is not abnormal---they probably didn't give you enough IV sedation...and they needed to give you more...happens all the time. I don't know her reason for concern there. The medicine they give you for that procedure is just to sedate you and give you an amnesia effect...it is not general anesthesia. I hope you keep pushing for answers as well and find out the cause of it all. I also had to have EGD before they finally decided to do the surgery and I was awake for a lot of it---I just didn't care what they did..LOL

stomach pain & nausea

Good morning!
I am heading to my doctors office today to pick up the orders for the tests. I actually started feeling much better yesterday. I feel like I'm crazy or something. I mean, I finally get the doctor to agree to run tests and now the pain and nausea is gone....so strange. Please tell me I'm not totally crazy.

You are not crazy! It is what always seems to happen. You know like when your hair comes out great the day before your haircut appointment!

Good luck and I pray they can give you some answers to put you at ease.

LOL...Or when your kid is soooooooo sick that you must come in to see the doc right away and they go in there and play their butts off in the waiting room.. My DD was famous for that. Couldnt' hardly lift her head she was so sick, but looked like she was at the school gym when we got there. And you know they are thinking "yeah right, that child is sooooo sick"...LOL

Just some thoughts...

Estrogen can actually make you have a higher risk for Gallbladder disease. I had my LAVH/BOS in 2000 and in 2004 after being on ERT for all those years I then had my gallbladder removed. Like others have stated here that it would come and go at first. Just when I thought I was ok it would hit me again. Also, most of my pain was on the left side in front and right side on my back! Very strange! Now my chest pain and back pain are both gone now since the GB came out. Anyway, it's definitely worth mentioning to your doc and having tests done.

However I admit I do still deal with nausea but recently when I came off my estrogen my nausea went away so you might want to check into if you are too estrogen dominant.

One other thought I had was your diahrrea could be from the prilosec or Zantac (can't remember exactly which one you mentioned). Those used to cause me tummy cramps along with diahrrea.

stomach pain & nausea

I felt really good all week.....until last night. The nausea started again. I had the bloodwork done yesterday and the ultrasound is scheduled for next Thursday. I'm hoping these tests will shed some light on what going on with me.
