In Desperate Need of Help

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy one year ago. I have no overies left. I am 35. Ever since I had my hysterectomy the Doctors have tried me on various hormones: the patch, biodentical hormones and now I am on the birth control pill. I have gained 40 pounds this year and I sweat continually, so bad that I have to take paper towels with me everywhere so I can continually wipe away the sweat - it is very embarresing.

Do any of you know why I continually gain weight? Is there a hormone imbalance? If so, what could it be? What could I be lacking or getting too much that is causing this severe weight gain. It is going at a pace that is unreal. I eat well, swim daily and I should be losing weight - not gaining. HELP!

Also, any ideas about why I am hot flashing 24/7.

The Doctors keep telling me that my case is unusual and don't seem to care too much about helping me. I cannot continue to carry around all this extra weight, it is killing my joints. And the sweating is keeping me from doing anything social because it is so embarressing!

Any advice would be greatly, greatly appreciated. I am at the end of my rope!

I've been the same since my hyster 5 years ago - HOT all the time and sweat like a pig! I sweat profusely just vacuuming the living room. Have gained 40 pounds since my surgery.

I just switched to premarin from estradiol. My blood levels still showed menopausal. My doctor is thinking I need the different form of estrogen. (I'm on Estratest also).

Why the birth control pill? That seems like a strange option to me.

Don't give up - research the interent.

I've just started the premarin, so I can't say if it is helping with the HOT/SWEAT yet. I pray so!!!!!

I just discovered also that I'm to take the Estratest 3 weeks on - 1 week off. I'm hoping this makes a different in my weight and sweating!

Is your testerone too high? - it seems like a lot to me. Have you tried a lower dose?

Have you had your blood checked recently.

Do not STOP talking to your doctor!!!!!

After 5 years, I finally found one who will listen!

If your Doc isn't helping you, it might be time to find a new Doc. The sweating and weight gain would make me miserable. I have not had any weight gain or sweats or any really bad menopause symptoms since my surgery. I get a little moody when it's time for a shot.

Good Luck!

I AGREE IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS TIME TO FIND ANOTHER DR. I AM ON DR #12. ALOT OF MY DR'S HAVE SAID I WAS VERY UNUSAL TOO BECAUSE I TOO TRIED EVERYTHING AND I CAN'T GET ANY RELIEF ALL THOUGH MY IS NOT HOT FLASHES OR SWEATING. TO ME THAT DOES SOUND REALLY STRANGE TO SWEAT SO MUCH. I THINK I HEARD SOMETHING ABOUT OVER SWEATING AND ADRENAL FATIGUE. MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR ADRENALS CHECKED.

GOOD LUCK MY HEART IS WITH YOU!
