I don't KNOW I'm safe yet

Surgery was smooth although everything looked bad on inspection. Frozen section benign, all pelvic washes were negative. Still waiting for the pathology report. I THINK it will be OK, but there IS a chance it will show some malignancy, right?

I'll be glad when it's back and OK.

I don't KNOW I'm safe yet

Although there is a SMALL chance that things will look bad on final report, it sounds like you probably have it under control. The washes are all important. What they show is even if it WAS malignant, there was probably no spread. If they got the whole tumor, and it was malignant, at this point you still have only a VERY slim chance of it ever coming back.

I know it is hard not to worry, but try not to borrow trouble. Keep a positive attitude!

I don't KNOW I'm safe yet

So far it sounds like things are going great, but I can understand that you won't stop worrying until the pathology results come back. If I had to guess, I would say a very slim chance that you should worry. I wish you the best and hope that everything turns out good for you.

Thanks

Thanks for responding, Cyd and Maggie. I'm not freaked but there's just this little niggling because I know that there is still the big question unanswered. Just needed to hear that the chances are sooooo slim . . . I know I can't know for sure until that report is in. It's so nice to have company and not have to wait alone.

I know you're freaked. But as Maggie said, if there was anything, they'll have gotten it all. I think it takes quite some time for us to not freak after every exam or test--even after the magic words of cancer-free are spoken.
