vaginal anatomy question

I haven't had my surgery yet but am wondering about something. Right now my labia hangs out on account of the pressure from my prolapsed uterus. Once the uterus is remove will the labia retract to a normal position on its own or will the doctor have to do some kind of a nip/tuck to pull it back up?

vaginal anatomy question

Hi megster!

If you have noticed something unusual lately in your genital area, one would think that after your surgery, your anatomy would return to normal. However, I think it would be good to ask your doctor this question on your next visit.

<scratches head> as the labia, both majora and minora, are external......kinda confused as to how your "labia hangs out" due to a prolapsed uterus.....you sure its the labia youre referring to...?

I had a LAVH with A&P repair work 2 weeks ago. I think I understand what you're talking about. Everything was bulging out of me too. I took a look with a mirror a couple of days ago and everything looks so different. Nothing bulging out or hanging down out of me that isn't suppose to. I would make a list of any questions you have and be sure to take it with you to your next doctor visit. I had 3 pages of questions for my gyn. at my pre-op visist.

Well, A & P stand for anterior and posterior wall. That is the front wall and back wall of the vaginia. When the bladder and rectum prolapse they bulge through the walls of the vaginia. They strengthen the walls so you won't have the prolapse.
