ultrasound next Wednesday

I was really hoping that my hyst would be the end of all the testing. Guess not.
I have to have a repeat pap in May because my yearly came back ( surprise suprise) abnormal. Now I have to have an ultrasound because my doctor is concerned about my continual swelly belly. He says that should be well over by now. My hyst was a year ago. Does anyone else in that range still have problems with swelly belly? I will be fine one day and the next I am so swollen I can't fit into my clothes and my belly feels like a balloon blown up too tight.

Thanks for any input.

HI

Hi,
I had by surgery (TAH/BSO) 8/03 and i still get swelly belly (well, actually never left!) But I do find that some days it is much worse that others. My abdomen also aches, alot, like a large bruise. Again, not bad some days, others I can't touch it!!! I thought, have the surgery, recover and get on with life. Not so for some of us!!!! I really don't think Dr's fully understand some women just don't heal like the majority!!! Anyway, i am glad you are going for tests, I had a CT scan, and nothing showed. If nothing else, it does put your mind at ease! GoodLuck

Yes, I can relate to the swelling. Sigh. I've had all the tests and unfortunately none of them showed much. I do think my swelling is related to digestive problems, but that's just my guess from tracking my symptoms and watching my belly for many years.

I do also have nerve damage, but am not sure how much that has to do with my swelling, but does probably have alot to do with the pain and the burning and zapping feeling I get in my belly.

Good luck with the ultrasound. Do let us know what the test shows and how you're doing.
