State insurance pre-approval

I am on state insurance right now and It seems like I have been waiting forever for Authorization.
My question is if anyone is on <oops!>, how long did it take to get your (TAR) Treatment Authorization request approved???
I am freaking out.
Any one that can shed some light on the subject would be a great comfort to me.
Thanks.

I too am on <oops!>. I had no idea I needed a TAR for approval for a hysterectomy. I would of thought if it was medically necessary it would be covered.

Thanks for the input... I am not sure I can wait that long for the approval. But guess we have no choice.

I was right. Go here

<oops! No insurance names please>

Open the first link for hyst. It states right on it there is no waiting period for a hyst.

this is from right off their page for <oops>

"Hysterectomy Consent Form The Hysterectomy – Informed Consent form in this section is included as a sample. A hysterectomy consent form may be a hospital form, a physician-designed form or a written statement by the person who secures authorization. To be acceptable, however, the form must include the following:

• A statement that the procedure will render the patient permanently sterile and

• The patient’s signature and date of signing. The date of
signing must be on or before the date of surgery.

For the purposes of <oops!> reimbursement, patients undergoing therapy that is not for, but results in, sterilization (formerly referred to as secondary sterilization) are not required to complete the Department of Health Services sterilization Consent Form (PM 330).

No Waiting Period There is no waiting period for a hysterectomy"

Thanks for the info

THANK YOU!!!!!!

The information was very helpful. Thank you so much. The form stated that there is no waiting period however it does have to be Authorized. My Doctor said it takes 6-8 weeks to get it authorized.
I am just frustrated. I am in pain and I can't get in to see my Dr. untill the 22nd.
I should just be greatful that she is willing to do the hysterectomy.
I wish that the Lupron wouldn't of stopped working.
Again thanks for the information.
