I wonder if the jacuzzi was just a concidence? I wouldn't think its so much the hot tub as perhaps having the area warm and wet afterwards with swimsuits being particularly slow to dry. Perhaps if you went straight from hot tub to shower, you'd be OK?

Just a thought. I have no issues with hot tubs but also am not prone to yeast. (Knock wood).

Take care.

I agree with Michelle. What usually causes the yeast infections is walking around in a wet bathing suit for awhile. That is probably what happened.

I have to chime in here that I've had this problem for years now, both with hot tubs and my own bathtub at home. I now keep acidophilus gelcaps in the fridge. If I feel the urge to soak in a hot bathtub, then before I go to bed that night I insert an acidophilus capsule intravaginally. It seems to work very well for me.

If you try this, I recommend the gelcaps, not pressed tablets. Tablets make a sticky mess (I'm guessing because of the "binders" used to make them stay in tablet shape), but the gelcaps seem to be completely dissolved by morning.

(((coffeelover))) has your DR done a swab to confirm that it's a yeast infection? I wouldn't treat it as one unless you know for sure that that's what it is.

Are you on any HRT? Vaginal dryness (caused by lack of estrogen in the vaginal walls) can feel a lot like the beginnings of a yeast infection , and chlorinated spa water can dry things out even more and make it feel worse. If you're not on any vaginal estrogen, you might want to ask your DR about using some (Vagifem is an easy one to use)... it can make your vaginal walls much healthier, more moist and elastic, which can make you more resistant to yeast infections as well as making sex more comfortable.

Of course, eating yogurt or taking a probiotic frequently can also go a long way towards helping prevent yeast outbreaks... always a good idea

I am almost 6 years post op, we have a jacuzzi/spa attached to our pool and it has not bothered me at all.

Hope your appt went well. Do let us know what the doc said about the problem you're having.
