Endometriosis/Hysterectomy and 15 yrs. later

I had a hysterectomy in 1990, due to severe endometriosis. My Dr. left my appendix, tubes, and ovaries, a couple yrs. later, I had an emergency appendectomy, it had endometriosis on it as well. I continue to have severe pain in my lower right side, I believe it is my ovary, and I have regular bleeding monthly, just like a period. My dr. says it isn't happening, but it is, sometimes it happens a couple of hours, sometimes a few days! Can anyone help me with this? Is anyone going through the same thing? The bleeding has been going on for several years now, and getting worse with each yr.

Dear wvlady2005,

You poor thing. I'm sorry to see you're having these complications.
Have you gotten another opinion? I haven't gone through what you are, but that would be my recommendation.
Don't give up trying to find your answers. Hopefully one of these wise ladies will have something more for you.
Keep us posted please.

Yikes!!! Your doctor says it isn't happening? Wow, this screams 2nd opinion to me! Here's a for your doctor. Is this a GYN saying this?

We deserve to be believed. Even if there is no way to fix it in the end, we at least should be listened to and taken at our word. There are several possibilities as to why you are experiencing this and you need to be seen by a GYN who will help you determine the cause and possible fix.

Best wishes to you. Do keep us posted!!!!

Wow! definitely don't give up on this. How can you be bleeding like a period when you don't have a uterus anymore? This is scary. I can't believe your doctor said it isn't happening.....in other words you must be lying or making it up. Right!!!!

Definitely time for a second opinion as the other ladies have suggested....sooner rather than later too I think! Good luck.

Endometriosis/Hysterectomy continued

I know it sounds crazy, but I have even had my husband to look to make sure! I also have bleeding with bowel movements too. Right now I don't have any health insurance, I will in sept. though, and I am going out of town to a Dr. I am thinking the endometriosis is back, and causing this. Thank You all for the support, please don't forget me in your prayers.

It is definately time to see a new gyn if he doesn't believe you! I also don't think this can wait til September if it is getting worse as time marches on. You need to have this checked out ASAP by a new gyn!

Endometriosis/Hysterectomy and 15 yrs. later

I had my LAVH, kept ovaries, but removed cervix 2 &1/2 years ago. I continue to have monthly spotting. I had to go back & have endometrial cysts removed in the vaginal cuff because that was causing the spotting. I completely understand exactly what you are going through. The only thing my dr. says is to go on Lupron because I have endo. I've researched this drug and refuse to do it. So now I continue to bleed & cramp and the bleeding is getting worse again. I don't know what to do. I feel as if there are no options for me, unless I want to go back & have ovaries removed. The dr. told me the hyst would stop the bleeding..........being as IT HASN"T I refuse to go through more surgery & then continue to have more bleeding & pain!!!!! If anyone has any info please let me know..........

Definately get a second opinion. The sooner the better. Any endo patients with ovaries is likely to have endo. Removing just the uterus isn't going to help except for a short time.

I don't know why you are bleeding, but you need to find a doctor who will get to the bottom of it. The sooner the better

Endometriosis/Hysterectomy and 15 yrs. later

Hi there! I had my surgery and had everything out due to endo. It has been 4 1/2 years later... I am finding that I'm not strong health wise like I used to be before surgery. I still have that right sided pain and I just lived with it. After seeing all the women complain about their aches and pains and getting nowhere closer to getting an answer, whats the point? I just get on with my life and try to function to the best of my ability. I do hope that you ladies find the answer you need. I just gave up ages ago.

Hugs to you all,

Oh, (((Dale)))

I'm so sorry you are still in pain. You sound like a very strong woman. You've made a choice and you are dealing with it. I love it!

I have been at that point too where I said ... what's worse the problem or the cure? Can I just live with this? For me, the answer was that I COULD live with it but did not WANT to if I could help it. I do hope that your pain does not continue, that it either resolves on its own or you find a fix.

I am feeling incredibly well for the last few weeks. I hope it lasts. I promise never again take being pain-free for granted. I am cherishing this time.
