Saw PM Doctor Today...(nerve block?)

I saw the PM doctor today. Overall I liked her, she was much more carring and understanding then the last PM doctor I saw.

She did alot of pressing on my tummy & groin area. She thinks that I am having problems w/two diffrent nerves on the left side. (also have pain on the right side but not as bad, taking one side at a time & one nerve at a time).

She wants to do a nerve block (I think that's what she called it) on the left side for the acking gawing pain that I have on a daily bases. She said it may only be temary relief, but if it works for a few hours or days she will do one that will last a lot longer, she said a year to 3 yrs if luck is with us. If all goes well with this nerve then she wants to do the other nerve which is causing the groin pain, the stapping pain, that goes down my leg. She said she is not sure if the nerve block will help with all of that pain, but feels it's a good place to start.

I am schedualed for the first block on May 4th. I wish I would of asked her for something for the pain because it's bad right now after all her poking & priding. I only have 3 pills left, I guess I will have to call her tomorrow. Hopefully she can give something to help until May 4th.

The reason she wants me to wait until May 4th for the nerve block is because she wants me to see the wound specialist once more to make sure it is okay with her for this to be done because she wants to use a steriod & steriods interfer with healing. She said if the wound specialist says no steroids she will do it with out.

Anyone ever have these blocks & have any luck or any info they would like to share?

I am glad you got in to see her! I haven't had nerve block done, but I know others have and they will respond when they get here. Please call her about something for the pain until your appt.. When is your wound specialist appt? How does the wound look now? Is it still getting bigger?
I hope whatever this woman does will help.
